The following measures and restrictions are in place for us to resume our amended time trial race calendar that will hopefully resume after running a test TT event on the 16th July 2020.

UPDATE 17th July. With the successful event last night, we are going to continue our TT season with a revised calendar and with measures in place. Please do read on and make yourself familiar with what we are doing.

Please read these guidelines

Do not attend if you feel unwell.

If you are in a vulnerable group, please do not attend.

Not all risks can be eliminated. Just as you cannot take into account every possibility or occurrence, it is necessary and proper that all obvious risks and likely risks are considered and dealt with by way of a RARA approach (Remove, Avoid, Reduce, Accept).

Pre-registration

If you wish to ride a TT, you MUST pre-register and we will be using Signup Genius, by the day before the event is to run because we will be limiting the number of riders to 15 to start with and then see how it goes. We may be able to cater for more riders in later events. I can then prepare the sign on sheet and start sheet ahead of the event. If you need to contact Jon, use timetrial@uwclub.net to communicate with him.

Entry is still £3.

  • KCC members may ride our TTs for the time being, no guests. (Existing first claim members only).
  • This is an opportunity to Race not Socialise
  • Initial event limited to 15 riders
  • Registrations accepted up to end of the day before to the event.
  • Direct payment to club bank account only. No cash.
HSBC, sort code 40-26-07, account 21504282, Kettering Cycling Club
  • You must not attend the event if you are subject to self isolating restrictions or feel unwell.
  • No entry on the day

Parking

If you arrive in a vehicle, then whether parking on the verges or at a car park, you will need to leave at least a width of a vehicle (2m) in between you and the next vehicle.

Signing on

Please bring your own pen as you will still need to sign against your name.

At Old, we will sign on outside, but we can use the toilets, one at a time.

Come ready to ride.

Race numbers

I will aim to allocate race numbers and allow you to use and keep the same number for all the events we run this year. This does not mean you will always start at, say number 3 if I give you 3, I will vary it on the start sheet.

If you wish to return your number, please do so in the bucket provided.

Warming up

No use of turbo trainers is allowed. If you wish to warm up, please do so by riding the local roads. The usual race rules apply regarding start and U turns. Please ensure you adhere to the government guidelines for safe distancing between you and fellow riders and organisers

The start

At the start, there will not be a pusher-off. Please keep your distance when waiting to start.

The finish

Please don’t congregate at the finish.

Spectators

Spectators are still welcome but keep your distance and don’t shout too much!

Marshals

I have updated the SignUp Genius website and If you are able and willing to marshal please sign up using Sign Up Genius with this link:
