This weeks zone 2 Wednesday ride report:

It turned out nice again!

After a few really cold days today’s weather was excellent for the time of year and I enjoyed a rather nice 56 mile steady ride around Northamptonshire. Apart from the road around Hinwick, between Poddington and Harrold, the general condition of the roads was pretty good and to my surprise the traffic was pretty light and generally considerate which is always nice.

Eating the miles

Towards the end of the ride I wanted to keep going but I had to be back within a 3 and a half hour deadline so couldn’t go too much further than I’d originally planned.

Highly recommend this ride

We’ve covered nearly all of these roads on Sunday morning rides over the last few years but if you ever fancy a nice ride of about 55 miles then I’d thoroughly recommend this one.

Tuesday for next week

Next week’s steady ride will be on Tuesday 15th which is quite fortunate as the weather forecast is looking pretty good. It won’t quite be shorts weather but with the current forecast being a sunny 9 degrees C at noon it should be quite nice. I’m going to try and make the most of that by following a clockwise, flattish route of just over 70 miles. I’ve kept in mind that some people may want to join for part of the ride and could join in or drop out along the way.

Please let me know where and when you might want to meet up if you plan to ride with me, the event and route is published on the calendar.

No photos this week… too wet
