Time Keepers: Jon Thorne and David Robinson

Marshalls: Lindsay Scott & Steven Hendry

A big thanks to them, as without them the event would not be able to go ahead.

At least the rain stopped!

Drizzle, 13°C, Feels like 13°C, Humidity 87%, Wind 6mph from ENE – by Klimat.app.

The last evening TT of our season was sabotaged by the weather and with the heavy rain over the last few days and heavy rain all day, it seemed that the conditions were going to be miserable. Not, saying they weren’t and it was wet, cold and the roads were awash with debri from the verges, but at least the rain stopped.

Weather was responsible for now shows

The start sheet was the casulty of the night. With almost half of the field of signed up riders reporting to be DNS.

This did not take away the efforts of those who rode, and the competition was still apparent with rider banter and encouragement at HQ and at the start.

Course changed

This evenings TT event was due to be on the Old 9.4m TT course, but due to the road surfacing it was moved to our Lamport 10m TT course, and we shortened to finish just after the start but before the turn point to return to Old, as this was part of the resurfacing, making the course riden 9.8 miles.

Well done to all the riders on the night, braving the weather and making the TT a successful event.

Here’s the result for KCC and guest riders.

KCC Riders

KCC Tony Brown, first 22:32, Hudson Hendry, second, 24:04 (course PB improving from last weeks 24:39) and Eddie Smith 25:00 overcoming losing his chain a couple of times and still achieving a solid time for third.

Road bike category, KCC Iain Callagham, first 28:42, Lucas Buksh 30:44 second.

KCC ladies, Maria braved the weather to take ladies win 26:49 (a super way to finish the season Maria with another course PB, well done) and ladies guest rider Mille Van Nierop (WVCC) took first with 27:11. The only two ladies racing!

Junior, taking the win was Hudson with Lucas Buksh 30:44 taking second place.

Guest Riders

The weather didn’t deter all, and we had a good showing of guests.

Securing overall top 10 places, for the guests we have road bike category, George Fox (45RC) also overall winner of the day 22:05, James Hyde (Renvale RT) 22:39 second also on a road bike, with Hans Van Nierop 23:32 on a TT setup taking third, with Mark Baird (Velo Elite) 25:45 third as a road bike.

A big thank you to the riders who turned up and also to the organisers as it was not a pleasant night.

Does anyone know if Tony Hutton braved it to take photos?

The next KCC TT event is the Frank & Joy Sheppard at the end of September to look forward to this is advertised on the CTT website.
