Up for a challenge (sportive) …

Regular Sunday riders Iain Calaghan and Sophie Griffin took up the challenge of the Cicle Classic Sportive on Saturday clocking up 100 miles with a fair bit of pavé and a strong headwind.

or … off to the races (spectating) or both!

The big event was on Sunday so a group consisting of Sophie, Iain Callaghan (gluttons for punishment), Steve Wong, Salv Semeneirio, David Robinson, Mike Castelete, Wayne Tunnah, Scott Barber, Mark Weathersby and Andy Parker headed off up the Rutland slopes to see some of the race at Owston.

The cold bites

However, a good buttie and cup of tea down, the cold got the better of most of us and only Wayne decided to stay on the watch some cycling.  The rest of us took on a small sector of pavé and made our way back to Kettering – at varying speeds!

It was colder than it looked! The sun was out, but it was bitterly fresh especially out of the sunrays, it was only Wayne who braved and stayed to watch some racing, the rest of us, headed off back to Kettering, at varying speeds and as a result splitting up to keep warm!
