Here are just a few of the many great reasons to join Kettering Cycling Club
- We are committed to promoting the healthy sport of cycling at all levels
- We’re open to riders of all ages and abilities – you don’t need to be an elite racer to join our club
- We run over 80 events per year including club runs, social rides, time trials, road races and cyclocross
- Reduced entry fees for club events – many of our events are free, but for those where we charge members pay less
- Our offering to under 16’s, is called Kettering Cyclones and offers a great introduction to cycling. Regular sessions run by our BC-qualified coaches, give kids a fun way to learn and hone their skills in safe off-road locations

- The more members we have the more scope there is for social activities (club nights, walks, trips to track events, trips abroad and training camps)
- It’s great value – and much cheaper than a gym membership

Above all we’re a welcoming and inclusive club – don’t be put off if you haven’t ridden much in the past, we’ve all had to start somewhere! Whatever your level you’ll be greeted with lots of encouragement and maybe even some inspiration.

We’re affiliated to all the major cycling organisations, giving our members access to a range of benefits and offers
- British Cycling – KCC membership gives you cheaper first-year BC membership, this can be worth the KCC joining fee on its own
- Cycling Time Trials – to ride open time trials you’ll need to join an affiliated club like ours
- Cycling UK / Cyclists Touring Club – organised events and campaigning to improve conditions for all cyclists
- Northants & District Cycling Association – our members get preferential entry to NDCA’s season-long time trial series
- Northants Cycle Racing Association – priority entry to NCRA’s annual road race series
- Central Cyclocross League – a winter series of off-road races for all ages
- Eastern Counties Cycling Association – preferential entry to all ECCA time trials

How to join
There’s no initial joining fee, we just charge a modest annual fee to cover the costs of running our events
We have three types of membership:
- Standard (Individual) – £25 per year
- Junior (under 18) – £10 per year
- Family (covers all family members living in the same home) – £35 per year
Our membership year runs from January to December but as a bonus if you join after August 1st in any year, your first annual subscription will cover you until the following December
To sign up, simply use the British Cycling website link below to purchase the appropriate subscription. There’s no need to join British Cycling, but remember that becoming a member of KCC will give you a discount on your first year’s BC membership. If you’re already a BC member please use your membership ID to login, if you’re not you’ll need to create an account as part of the sign-up process.

Volunteering
Without helpers, our club events wouldn’t be possible
As a member of the club, you’ll be asked to help out once in a while to allow us to run our extensive events schedule. This may involve marshalling at a road race or time trial, helping out with event sign-on or other admin duties, or maybe serving tea and coffee at race hq – all help is welcome. If you’re not sure what’s involved, don’t worry – you’ll be given any necessary briefing, and you may be able to shadow another helper if you’re unsure
