Early sun camouflages the freezingly cold temperature!

Weather: Overcast clouds, 4°C, Feels like 1°C, Humidity 70%, Wind 3mph from NE – by Klimat.app

The first of our fast A43 time trials, this early season race is a marker of fitness for many of the quicker riders setting out the fitness achieved over the winter months, tweaks in position, kit and the efforts of hours on the turbo. The weather leading up to race day had been bitterly cold, frosty, looking like it should be 10° warmer with the long sun rays across the roads. 16 riders signed up and turned up to ride, a noticably change to the last races on Grafton, being a flatish course, the majority on TT bikes. All riders safely made it round the course, having seen Noel at the finish, I did not realise he was a DNF, not sure what happened, but he was safe and sound.

The road surface was really good for the pounding the traffic usually gives the A43, a sign of lockdown and reduced traffic numbers no doubt, the only hazard was the Mawsley roundabout on the outward stretch with rough, broken tarmac and a few shallow pot holes in the racing line, which did not affect the quick times.
