Dedicated TT’ers

A small but fast group of 4 riders competed in the first race of the year on the Broughton 10 mile course. The conditions were reasonable although all of the riders commented on how “heavy” the air was.

The quickest rider on the morning was Rob Barker making his debut at KCC club events for 2022. Rob caught Chris Old the 2nd fastest KCC rider on the timing line for a 1 minute victory. Fresh from his good ride on Thursday Pete Campbell came in 3rd within a whisker of a 25 mph average. I think there’s more to come from Pete as the season progresses and he gets to know the courses a bit better.

Jonathan Allen of the University of Birmingham CC was a guest rider and he posted a very creditable time to come 2nd overall. We look forward to seeing Jonathan again during the summer.

Thanks to all of the riders for supporting the season long series of Time Trials.

Thanks to the volunteers

We had a great team of volunteers at the race. Noel Toone was an excellent timekeeper who got some assistance at the start from Adrian Gorham. Out on the course we had marshalling support from Caroline Larsson for the 2nd race in a row. Thank you to them as we couldn’t run the races without them.

If you’d like to take part or help out ant any future Time Trials then please visit the Event diary where you’ll get all of the dates and courses.
